Gardening resources and books are being loaned out at libraries and purchased at book stores in record numbers as people are turning to do it yourself ways of cutting their budgets. Growing your own fruits and vegetables is becoming big business thanks to collapsing global economies.

People are turning their back yards and window spaces into living thriving food markets in an attempt to stay ahead of oncoming financial crunch. Books on Eco-friendly gardening are especially popular as word is spreading not only for the health benefits but financial savings involved in recycling things not only for composting but for planters and flower beds as well. You do not need a yard either as people in the cities are turning their window spaces into window boxes with DIY gardeners popping up all over.

Here are some tips to get you started on thinking about what you can do to grow your own Eco-friendly garden. The number one thing to start with is learn how to start composting your waste to be re-used in your garden. Recycle your water even consider getting a rain barrel to catch the run off from your house witch can be a big green saver especially in drought seasons. Re-use plastic containers and keep the use of chemicals to a bare minimum when at all possible. Last but not least do your research and try and get your hands on one of those gardening resources or books that are getting a lot of use down at your local library.

      we have a few DIY eco gardeners in our neighborhood. They have been kind enough to share some of their yummy crops…. much better than store bought both in price and taste ;-)
